Circuits.com operates this directory. Where this policy says “we”, it means Circuits.com.
For anything in this policy — including a request to see, correct, export or delete your data — use our contact form and say what you are asking for. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Whatever you enter on the listing form and in your portal, which may include: company name, contact person, email, phone number, website, postal address, year founded, employee count, keywords, description, opening hours, social profile links, certifications, team member names, roles, photos and email addresses, gallery images, logo, and any documents you upload.
Your name, email address, company, phone number, subject, message, and any quantity or part number you provide. This is shown to the company you sent it to, and to Circuits.com staff.
Your name, email address, star rating and review text. Reviews are read by Circuits.com staff before publication. If published, your name and review are public; your email address is not.
Your name, email address, your role at the company, and whatever evidence you give us to show the listing is yours.
We count profile views, and clicks on a company’s website, phone, email, documents and quote button, so the company can see whether their listing is working. Each record holds the company, the type of action, the keyword you arrived from, and the time.
If you accept analytics, we also store a random identifier in your browser so repeat visits from the same browser count as one visitor rather than several. That identifier is not linked to your name, email or account. If you decline, we still count the view but store no identifier with it.
We keep a record of decisions that grant access or affect money — approving a listing, changing a price, connecting an account to a company. Each entry holds the staff or account email, what changed, and when. This record cannot be edited or deleted, including by us. It exists so those decisions can be audited.
We record every search: the words typed, how many listings matched, and when. We do not record who searched — no name, no account, no IP address, nothing that ties a search back to a person or to any other search. It is kept as a running tally so we can see which keywords the industry looks for and which ones we cannot yet answer, which is how we decide who to approach about listing. Because there is no identifier attached, a search cannot be traced to you even by us.
If a search finds nobody and you ask us to let you know when a supplier lists, we store the keyword, your email address, and anything you type in the notes box. That is used to email you about that keyword and to understand demand. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list. Ask us and we will delete it.
Please assume the following is visible to anyone on the internet, including search engines:
Quote requests, unpublished reviews, claim submissions and your account email are not public.
Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is the contract with you for a listing or account, our legitimate interest in running and securing a directory, and your consent for analytics cookies.
We do not sell personal information. We use these providers to run the site, and they only handle your data to provide their service to us:
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users from fraud, abuse or a security threat.
We keep this to a minimum.
Necessary, always on. Your sign-in session is stored in your browser so you stay signed in between pages. Your cookie choice is stored so we stop asking. Neither is used for tracking and the site cannot work without them.
Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept, Google Analytics loads and sets its own cookies, and we store the random visitor identifier described in section 3. If you decline, neither happens.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones will sign you out and may stop parts of the site working.

If you have an account, you can already edit or delete most of your own profile and listing information yourself from the portal, without asking us.
If you are in the UK, EU or a US state with its own privacy law, those laws may give you additional rights, including the right to complain to your data protection regulator. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Access to data is enforced in the database itself, not only in the website, so a company can only reach its own listing, quote requests and reviews. Passwords are hashed. Uploads are limited by type and size. Decisions affecting access or billing are logged to a record that cannot be altered.
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will tell you and any regulator we are required to notify.
Circuits.com is operated from the United States and our providers may store or process data in the United States and elsewhere. If you are outside the United States, using the site involves your information being transferred there.
Circuits.com is a business directory and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will make that clear rather than relying on you noticing the date.
